About St. Peter's Church
Origins
St. Peter’s Church grew from a small group of Christian families living in the Government Officers Colony (NGO 'B' COLONY) of Palayamkottai. In the early years these families worshipped at neighbouring congregation centres. As the number of believers increased, they sought a local place of worship.
Early Fellowship
Twelve families joined hands to buy 50 cents of land in 1975 for building a chapel. Despite opposition from some quarters, their unity and prayer led to the rapid construction of a small chapel which was dedicated on 07 January 1978. Sunday school, women's fellowship, and regular prayer meetings started, and the congregation grew.
